Simple pleasures

Warm in the corner
Warm on the bed
Yawning, stretching, yellow eyes
Sunshine warms your furry head

Outside the warm house
Grass provides screen
Wind brings a hint of interest
Sneaking through concealing green

Tense concentration
Rabbit leaves den
A blur, a jump, claws catch skin
Carnivorous feast begins

Dusk on the back porch
Making night rounds
Prowling howling yowling fight
Adding to suburbia's sounds

Home before dawn
Inside to greet
Purr while idly traversing
Circles round your servant's feet

Ball of string unwinds
Trail of your play
Asleep atop the chair back
Long and busy feline day

Yeah, Douglas Adams wrote about this in the '90s, only it was called an Electric Monk back then.

This is charming.

---

Agreed. It suits the title perfectly, or the other way around. Or both.

Now I want to listen to Joy Division.

A solid "worth reading"

Try one about dogs. Dogs don't eat small slices of your soul while you sleep.

Cam Lasley, born in 1982, first became interested in music when he played drums in the Junior High School band in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Before long he began writing his own thought provoking lyrics, as rap became his music of choice. In High School, Lasley was dubbed "Laz D" by former classmate, and current Atlanta Hawk, Salim Stoudamire, and the name has stuck. In 2005 he began writing the 14 tracks that make up the debut record "The Man Himself", which in 2006 was produced and recorded by Jack Gibson at the D Compound. The first single "Clean Up the Game" sends edgy, positive messages of anti-violence to the listener, while the follow up "Girlfriend" is an R&B love ballad. Despite having Down syndrome, Laz D hasn't let the disorder deter him from writing and performing music, sending words of encouragement to everyone. Visit www.laz-d.com to purchase the album, watch the video, and find out about D Entertainments newest artist!

It's 5 4 7 7, and I guess I'm trying to get back some karma for allowing my neices to terrorize my ctas recently.

Homer: Is this episode going on the air live?

June Bellamy:
No, Homer. Very few cartoons are broadcast live -- it's a
terrible strain on the animators' wrists.
