I almost always put a lot of effort into my papers but it does make me say wtf when I procrastinate until the last day and receive the same kind of grade if not better.
I'm not kidding myself. I know exactly why this happens. You see, the ones that I write on the fly are often more interpretive in nature, usually relying on the my own personal interpretation of imagery/figurative language to prove my thesis statement (usually this is for poetry). Who's to say my interpretation of something is wrong?
I'm not saying I'm happy with the way things turn out. Anyway, this happened more at the 100 and 200 level than it does at this point.
At my school, I don't think you really get challenged to do something extraordinary until graduate school, where you start writing for publication and preparing to be a lecturer. It's way more competitive at that point.

i really liked pavement.
i saw them at mississippi nights in st. louis in...1999? don't remember the year. fucking cheap too. $10
they put on a great show. i hate bands that put out these great albums with magnificnet production values and realy clean songs who can't play a live show to save their fucking lives. it's the musical equivalent of being a cock tease.
