When I sit here, it begins.
It drives her crazy-
the pile of my clothing,
my untied shoes, DVD cases.
She hates my thumbs; they seek the next channel.
The news is as usual.
When I sit here, it continues.
I abandoned a cup upstairs-
a stray sock behind the dresser.
I burn potatoes; he thinks they cook faster with full flame.
The eggs are cooked to order.
When I sit here, I ignore.
I have her hands; I break my own fast.
It maddens them- my silence, our three-room dinners, sideless.
It's over.
