My favourite SF writer :(. Anyone who likes science fiction should read all of his books, especially 'Rendevous with Rama' 'Childhood's End' and 'The City and the Stars'.

You're right though. 2001 was the kicker of all ass.
The first time i saw it, was the only time i didn't fall asleep watching this almost slow-motion sf. There are some terrific scene's though. Also love the slingshot around Jupiter in 2010. But not much more.
