I was surfing the net and nearly fell off my chair after reading this:

****

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/05/31/MN7S10SRE1.DTL&type=politics

Brad Linzy, who writes for a small entertainment magazine in Evansville, Ind., said that by now, Paul is more than a political preference. "The man is my hero," he said. "He is a hero on the level of a Gandhi." Adhering to the candidate's calls for a hard-currency economy, Linzy, 30, keeps nearly half his savings in silver bullion, and scours antiques fairs and rummage sales for objects containing silver.

****

So I just felt I had to return to ubersite and post this little bit of news.

Ol' brad is "scouring antique fairs and rummage sales" for silver just like some real life Dungeons & Dragons character sans plate armor, I guess. I'm sure his character is headed for Paulville sometime in the future. But, to each his own... Some people love Ron Paul and equate him with Gandhi, while others such as me find it ridiculous to compare Gandhi to a lowly U.S. Representative who has gotten ZERO pieces of legislation passed that he has sponsored or co-sponsored. He's made quite a cult, though. I guess I should take a page out of the Brad Linzy handbook and assess some of my personal heros to compare to Gandhi. I'll do that right now.

FOLKS WHO ARE ON THE LEVEL AS GANDHI: The guy who programmed Q*Bert, the DPW workers who fixed my street that had a huge depression in it that had been there for the past 20 years, that worker at In-n-Out Burgers that made my order just perfect the last time I went there and gave me a FREE T-shirt, the slot machine at Ho Chunk near Wisconsin Dells that paid me real nice last year, and the neighbor's rottweiler which happened to be in the backyard when I chased a trespasser from my yard into his.

From now on, I'll take a similar approach to other things in life. When life gives you lemons, you say those lemons are heros on the levels of George Washington, Ulysses S. Grant, Harriet Tubman, or General George S. Patton.

Stabkill - You certainly have no responsibility do anything at all to bring about change if you like things the way they are. If you're considering Brad an loudmouthed idiot for being unhappy with the way things are and trying to change them, then I'll even encourage you to do nothing.

In the meantime, enjoy the bliss.

I work against Ron Paul all the time (I'm an illumanti agent!!! COINTELPRO!!! ETC) Believe me: I am doing something. But I think you are hinting at me driving down to Evansville, Indiana and blowing his head off with a shotgun to silence a fool.

This is old news from May 25th's NY Times, btw. Heard about it directly from state delegate Linzy himself. At least he's out there actively WORKING and busting his butt to make a difference, so you gotta respect that, regardless of who you support.

-----------------

So you respect people who are out there trying to wake up white people to the white power movement?

You respect people who are out there trying to convince people that god killed soilders because the US allows gays to live?

Because you have to respect the cause that people are working for in order to respect their work.

BTW being elected to state delegate if you are going to go against what the voters want is nothing to respect.

BTW, brad is wasting his time looking for old silver, he is too dumb to know if it is real silver.

Nah, the line was directed toward people who complain at their circumstances and don't act to change them. Is that you? Maybe. I don't know you so I cannot say, but you know.

-----------------

Where does it become my responsibility to "change things" when they are fine as they are to myself So I have to become pro-active to combat Paultards who want to usurp local voters wishes by going out and getting elected myself? So in that case we are ALL guilty because con-artists, scammers, druggies, and other other crooks have negative impacts on society and we all do nothing.

This sounds like a good excuse for vigilantism.

I hate high gas prices so I ride my 62mpg motorcycle instead of my 15mpg pickup truck when I can. Doing that doesn't change the price of a gallon of gas, though. I have a headache so I take an aspirin. Masks the pain but doesn't treat the cause of the pain. I bitch that the government doesn't represent me but I do the easiest thing I can about it - I vote for whoever's closest to my views. Brad is not taking that easy route, he's sticking it out there and saying what he thinks. Good for him. If he were running in my area, I'd vote for him because, as wacky as everyone seems to think he is, he's closer to my views than anyone else*. If you're like me, doing the minimum to change or maintain the current political landscape according to your own agenda, then you're like me further in that you're not trying as hard as is Brad. If you really actually don't care about the current political landscape then you have closed your eyes and turned your back to the hurricane.

*Except the whole '9/11 was an inside job' thing. Seriously, lack of evidence does not constitute proof of a conspiracy to remove or conceal evidence.

I know - he only got 38 votes. I didn't get any in my run for office, and neither did you. The worst failure is the failure to try.

------------

Obviously the line "The worst failure is the failure to try" is directed at people who want to do something but choose not to because they lack the self-confidence to do so. It isn't to be directed at people who are not interested in something such as being a delegate to a democrat or republican convention.

If anything, Brad is an asshole because he was going to get elected to usurp the voters and give his delegate vote for the guy HE thinks is the right one.

I do actually find it funny that he was even beaten by a guy who goes by the name Leon "Big Man" Collins.

Skrap:

DELEGATES WARD FOUR
VOTE FOR 2
(WITH 14 OF 14 PRECINCTS COUNTED)
46 CHERYL A.W. MUSGRAVE. . . . . . 117 31.28
47 ROBERT P. MUSGRAVE . . . . . . 75 20.05
43 LORI L. HUPFER. . . . . . . . 52 13.90
42 LEON (BIG MAN) COLLINS . . . . . 46 12.30
44 THOMAS K. HUPFER . . . . . . . 46 12.30
45 BRADLEY P. LINZY . . . . . . . 38 10.16

Cheryl Musgrave is Brad's enemy and she stomped the holy hell out of him. I'm guessing she isn't a Ron Paul supporter:

On Aug. 8, more than 300 tax protesters booed Cheryl Musgrave, the commissioner of the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance, during a public hearing at the fairgrounds. County Assessor James Carmichael and Mayor Dan Canan, both Republicans, also were booed.

Want to guess if Brad "I'm not paying taxes" Linzy was one of those 300?

There are SERIAL KILLERS "out there making a difference"!

Scavenging for silver sounds more respectable than stealing copper.
