i first saw a black president on tv a few years ago, on '24'. He was very solid and dignified with much gravitas. jack ballam or whatever his name was seemed to love him like a daddy and would do anything to keep him alive and leading the free world.
then there was another black president on the same show. he was skinner and more highly-strung, but still noble and brave. not sure if this was supposed to be the same black president (just played by a different black actor because the other black actor quit or died or got sent to prison), or if in fact the plot of 24 allowed for TWO black presidents.
morgan freeman also recently played a black president saving the world from meterorites or tsunamis or something. and as we all know morgan freeman is a cool dude with plenty of gravitas of his own.
i have a feeling there was another black president on another show recently, maybe 'west wing', but i can't quite place it.
anyway, now there is yet another black president of tv. he looks lithe and sporty and also has an attractive wife and two cute kids and apparently will soon get a puppy for the white house!
i wonder: if the other black presidents hadn't been on tv, getting everyone used to the idea of a black president on tv, would this new black president be on tv now?
i tend to doubt it.
as a social experiement, obama should announce that when he has vacations morgan freeman will step in and cover for him.

Obama is only vaguely black. He is kinda white with a hint of black.
