I don't care what any of you say. No one sees something like this and thinks, "I wish I hadn't seen it." They fucking laugh and they go "Jesus" and then they make a face and they say "jesus" again. And then they marvel at the ability of man to produce such a composition. And then they feign innocence and remark that it shouldn't havce been posted when in fact they will remember this picture for sometime, and look back on it wonder, fear, and a nagging queation about whether that shit drip on the hip was from meconium, or had the woman taken a shit during childbirth.

I've only ever fainted twice at what I've seen, and one of those times was from watching a birth. I'm still not even sure what happened. All I know is that I still get shit about it.

I think this photo is staged. That baby looks cleaned of vernix (white waxy coating). Generally, the baby isn't washed until the cord is cut and the remaining section of umbilical cord is pinched off.
I knew something was bugging me about this picture (besides the obvious).

re: it being staged, the baby appears to be kinds whitish/blue to me, although, ouch, what a biggun.
the idea of someone staging this doesn't seem as likely as the idea of some over zealous home birth hippies snapping a photo of their freshly born baby. maybe though- stranger things have been done.
image has been added to my subconcious, guaranteed to pop up at the super coolest times.

The only thing I find disturbing about this picture is the her smile at that moment and even then I doubt very much that she is evil in any way it was simply the angle, the moment, etc. I see a happy mother and her newborn.
