When I tell people I'm not registered to vote, they just look at me in shock. Oh my God! You don't vote? Even if you don't like the two party system you can still vote for a third party or register as an independent or hell, even write in a canidate.
Now why would I wanna do a thing like that? Oh that's right, because all these people around the world would die or something for the rights I have and people have fought and died for my rights. Well, bully for them! Hell, they got to die for something they believed in, just like those suicide bombers. I don't really mean anything by that, but well, they're dying for something they beluieve in right?
But anyways, I'm not interested in politics and just don't care much. Sure there are a few changes I might like to make, hell I could stand for marijuana to be legalized. And there's probably some other stuff too. But whatever, I can still smoke pot if I want to. I know it's a weak defense, hell it isn't even a defense, but that's just me.
I've noticed that it's a big thing on the internet to argue about politics. I'm sure you've all noticed as well, but does anyone else see much of a point to it other than the satisfaction of expressing your opinion (even though nobody gives a damn)? Not that I feel that isn't sufficient reason enough, that's what I;m doing. And you don't need to point out that nobody gives a damn about MY opinion, you'd think I already knew that.
But I dunno, maybe some of you pseudo-intellectuals (maybe even some REAL intellectuals) out there actually do more than talk and flap yout lips (or fingers I guess) up and down and make a difference, or at least try to. Do you people send petitions to your government or take part in demonstrations or vote on more than just the "big" elections? Maybe you do, and I'd applaud you if that impressed me. And it kinda does, but not much. I can respect a person doing something they want to do or believe in, but I respect people for weird stuff. Do you though? Or do you just talk and argue with other people on the internet in a fashion very similar to my own (or maybe totally unsimiliar but not fundamentally different)? I doubt it, but I've been wrong before, just not often. Well, that's not true, but it doesn't matter because who am I? Just some fuck on the internet whose opinion matters more than yours. Catch the sarcasm? I figured you wouldn't, hence that extra line.
So next time you're gonna post your opinion or thoughts or respond to someone else telling them how wrong they are and for what reasons and how badly (or maybe even AGREEING with someone), just think about what I've said here for a second. Just stop and think, that's all. Nothing more. Or not, I don't realy care.
And now the once over for typos. I might catch em all, but I probably won't. So now you can minus this to death for whatever reasons you can think of, I don't care, because if in that case you can go to hell. Not that I believe in it or anything.
