Yeah, that's right.
I'm pissed.
Fucking Cardinals.
Last night's game was a display of great pitching and awful hitting by both sides. It just goes to show you how bad the National League really is. I love my Mets, but they sure did suck last night.
Congrats to Cardinals fans. I know you are happy.
My vote for play of the year:
Endy Chavez going over the wall to pull back Scott Rolen's Home Run ball and tuening it into a double play.
My observations:
Is it me, or does Aaron Heilmann look retarded when he goes into his windup? I think he's a heck of a pitcher anyway.
Willie Randolph has a Joe Torre demeanor about him when he manages games. I like that. He also has loyalty to his players. I like that as well.
Carlos Beltran goes down looking to end the game. What the fuck?
All in all, I think the Mets played fairly well considering they lost two of their five starters in the rotation and a key bat in Cliff Floyd.
On the St. Louis side:
Jeff Suppan pitched brilliantly in game seven. A real dominating force on the mound.
Scott Rolen needs some time to figure out exactly what the hell he is doing out there.
Pound for pound, David Eckstein has the most heart of any baseball player in the league.
Yadier Molina looks like a girl, but the man can catch a blue streak and has a rifle for an arm.
Maybe next year the Mets will look better than this:

our bats didn't do much tonight
we made them sweat a little in the 9th though. Tony should have subbed Duncan in. nothing to be lost at that point.
we'll do well in St. Louis.
I feel good about our chances this year.

Eckstein RUNS to first when he gets walked. When he went deep the other night, he sprinted around the bases. He dives for balls that other guys will just watch sail by. Great, great player.
Another team with a great shortstop: The Mets
No matter what the outcome, this was an excellent series to watch. Last night had my stomach in knots a few times.
Now I go.

Rolen has a bum shoulder and shouldn't have been in the game at all. Tony kept him in the game for his defense, he's an awesome 3rd baseman and an awesome bat when he's healthy. He blew an easy play last night, throwing out the defense argument for keeping him in. Tony should have had Spiezio at 3rd. His bat is just as impressive and his defense is good enough. Either way, I hope we hold onto Rolen for a long time to come, everyone can have a bad play, game, or season.
Molina doesn't throw like a girl. That's all that counts.
And at least he doesn't look like a pedophile. *cough* Valentin *cough*

For $119 million you could swing the fucking bat!
By the way, it's not football season, it's HOCKEY season.

I cheered.
Loudly.
Shlongy said the Cards would be out of the post season in 4 games. And that the A's would be in the Series. Hahahahahahaha
I don't blame you for rooting for Detroit BigMike; had the game played out differently last night I would also be cheering for the American League in the Series.

My wife got a good look at him the other night and she says to me:
"The Cardinals have a GIRL catching for them?"
I laughed my ass off because she said it as if she believed he really was a girl.

Now that comment, like my penis, is solid gold.
The Mets left, what, 11 men on base last night?

Blame that loss on Willie Randolph.
Bottom 6th, 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Tie game. You squeeze bunt there to take the lead. What happened instead? Valentin K'd. Two outs. Fly ball, inning over.
Bottom 8th, Beltran walked to lead off the inning, you sacrifice Delgado there. I don't care how prime time he thinks he is. It's a tie game in the 8th inning with the season on the line. What happpens instead? Delgado whiffs.
Bottom 9th, 2 on no out. You sacrifice Floyd to move the tying run to 2nd base. Would have brought the outfield in to hopefully cut off the tying run on a single. Reyes' shot to right center would have had a chance at getting over the defense and going for a double. Tie game. Instead, Floyd goes down LOOKING.
I'm not even a Mets fan. I'm a baseball fan. Randolph gave that game away.

And Yadier Molina looks like a shemale. One that got bad surgery to boot.

"Carlos Beltran goes down looking to end the game. What the fuck?"
No kidding. You don't do that. You don't go down in Game 7, bases loaded, down by 2. Not without swinging the bat.
Great fucking curveball, though. When Wainwright first pulled that out against Floyd I actually shouted "holy shit." Just didn't see it coming.
Great game last night. Great, great game. Chavez'll be remembered for that catch. I got so used to watching it in slo-mo that when they played it back at normal speed I did a double take. Even though I'd seen the play as it happened.
And Yadier Molina looks like a shemale. One that got bad surgery to boot.
I shall now refer to him as "Crying Game." It's not an exact match, but I don't know any famous shemales.
